Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in providing essential speech and language services to students. The SLPA will play a vital role in implementing therapy plans and fostering communication development among students across different educational levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist SLPs in delivering direct therapy services to students according to established therapy plans.
  • Implement therapeutic activities and interventions under the guidance of the supervising SLP.
  • Conduct screenings and collect data regarding student performance and progress.
  • Prepare and organize necessary therapy materials and resources.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of therapy sessions and student progress.
  • Support the development and execution of individualized education plans (IEPs) and therapy objectives.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other school personnel to enhance students' communication skills.
  • Engage in team meetings and contribute to discussions about student progress and program effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or a related discipline.
  • Valid licensure or registration as an SLPA in Connecticut.
  • Certification as an SLPA is preferred.
  • Experience with children in educational or clinical environments is advantageous.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to follow directions and effectively execute therapy plans.
