Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced phlebotomist to perform blood collection by venipuncture and arterial puncture. The ideal candidate will assist in preparation of specimens, operation of selected equipment, and clerical duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood specimens from inpatients and outpatients using arterial puncture, venipuncture, and heel-stick techniques.
  • Prepare blood samples for analysis in the laboratory by centrifugation.
  • Maintain venipuncture supplies and prepare a list for acquisition.
  • Log specimens and prepare them for analysis.
  • Check files for late results of outside laboratory tests and follow up as necessary.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during the blood collection process.
  • Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of accredited phlebotomy training program.
  • Three to six months of experience as a phlebotomist.
  • Must be licensed by the State of California.
