Phlebotomy Specialist

Catalina Island Medical Center is seeking a skilled and experienced Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our clinical laboratory, the successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients and preparing them for analysis.

• Collect blood specimens from patients using venipuncture and arterial puncture techniques.
• Prepare blood samples for analysis by centrifugation and other laboratory procedures.
• Maintain venipuncture supplies and ensure a clean and safe work environment.
• Log specimens and prepare them for analysis, ensuring accurate and timely results.
• Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and accurate laboratory operations.
• Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines to protect patients and staff.
• Perform related duties as requested by the Laboratory Manager.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.
• Three to six months of experience as a phlebotomist.
• Must be licensed by the State of California.
