Lead Teacher - After Care Program

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Teacher to join our After Care Program team at The Goddard School of Viera, FL. As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for implementing engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum, leading daily activities, and collaborating with a supportive team to create a nurturing environment for young children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum and Instruction: Implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities, foster a love of learning through creative and engaging teaching methods, and observe and assess children's development and adjust activities accordingly.
  • Classroom Management: Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment, manage daily routines and transitions smoothly, and address behavioral issues with positive guidance and support.
  • Family Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress and daily activities, conduct parent-teacher conferences, and provide regular updates.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the classroom and common areas, adhere to all health and safety guidelines and procedures, and supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities, stay current with best practices in early childhood education, and collaborate with other teachers and staff to share ideas and strategies.
