The Non-QM Underwriting Supervisor plays a vital role in cultivating a high-performing mortgage team. This position is centered on surpassing client expectations and delivering outstanding service. Building and maintaining strong, enduring client relationships through prompt, precise, and thorough underwriting decisions is essential. A professional and compassionate representation of our company is paramount.
Compensation: Starting pay ranges between $50-$58/hr, depending on experience and qualifications.
Work Environment: This role is hybrid-remote or remote, requiring a West Coast schedule, Monday through Friday, with availability between 8 am and 5 pm PST.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure Timely Processing: Maintain posted turn times with a target of 95% or better.
- Foster a Positive Team Environment: Support underwriting staff to uphold quality standards and maintain employee satisfaction.
- Review Conditions: Assist in evaluating PTD and funding conditions as directed by management, ensuring compliance with turn time standards.
- Demonstrate urgency and importance in all tasks to provide exceptional service.
- Maintain a positive approach to underwriting, striving to approve loans wherever possible.
- Conduct monthly audits of underwriting processes to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to the underwriting team on complex transactions.
- Train and mentor new underwriters, ensuring they meet performance standards.
- A minimum of 5 years of recent non-QM underwriting experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of non-QM loan program guidelines and automated underwriting systems.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with team members and brokers.
