Principal Cloud Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

The Principal Cloud Systems Engineer will push the boundaries of innovation and further our people-first values by eagerly supporting and collaborating with the team. This role requires a strategic individual contributor who can solve enterprise-wide engineering problems in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

  • Deeply learn the business to successfully collaborate with other groups across the company to ensure our systems are secure, resilient, and deployed with guaranteed reliability.
  • Provide leadership and support the company's commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.
  • Ensure we operate our business on cost-effective but performant software and systems appropriate to the size of the business but ready for growth.
  • Keep executive-level leaders informed of progress and problems. Balance technical leadership and savvy with strong business judgment to make the right decisions about technology choices.
  • Champion a culture of curiosity, constantly seeking innovative solutions to intricate challenges.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering an environment of knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Exhibit a thirst for learning, keeping up with emerging technologies, best practices, and industry trends.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • High degree of competency in network architecture and engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure.
  • Ability to manage, evaluate, and manage key vendors associated with securing and managing corporate and production infrastructure.
  • Deep understanding of the why and how of securing modern hybrid systems infrastructure.
  • Preferred experience with infrastructure as code automation tools such as Terraform.
  • Preferred extensive experience with Identity and Access Management systems for securing products and corporate systems.
  • Preferred experience designing systems at the architecture level and leading teams to execute on the associated planning.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, valuing teamwork and effective knowledge sharing with technical and non-technical team members.
  • Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities with a knack for problemsolving and optimizing complex systems.
  • Bring a sense of ownership, demonstrate craftsmanship, enjoy collaboration, and have the drive to make an impact.
  • Accountable to self and others, establishes trust through consistent and transparent actions.
  • Proven track record as a lifelong learner, staying ahead of technological advancements and embracing new methodologies.
