Lead Electrical Safety Specialist – Critical Power & Electrical Testing

Overview:
The Lead Electrical Safety Specialist focuses on Electrical Testing and critical power systems, particularly Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS). This role is essential for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive electrical safety initiatives, with a strong emphasis on UPS systems to guarantee the utmost safety and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Project Safety and Health (S&H) and Risk Management, effectively managing multiple safety programs.
  • Develop and implement site-specific project safety plans in collaboration with Project Management.
  • Lead and mentor project-safety teams, ensuring effective coordination and execution.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of complex industries, particularly in Government & Federal Buildings, Power Distribution Centers, and Military & Air Force Bases.
  • Create and implement safety training plans and curricula, including conducting new hire orientations (OSHA 10, 30, and CPR/FA training).
  • Redesign training materials and programs to enhance the employee experience in hands-on training.
  • Interpret and apply electrical safety standards, including the National Electric Code (NEC) and NFPA 70E, while managing the NFPA 70E training program.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Engage in meetings with customers, project teams, and contractors to advise on project-specific Risk and Hazard mitigation plans.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Associate's degree with 8-10 years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 3-5 years of experience in safety management.
  • Preferred degree in Safety Discipline, Engineering Discipline, or a related field.
  • Knowledge and experience in Safety Management Systems, including ANSI-Z10, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 31000.
  • Trainer Designation (OSHA 500/502) and a degree in Safety and Health/Occupational Safety from an ABET accredited program.
  • Willingness to pursue certifications such as Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
  • Prior experience in electrical, construction, industrial, federal, and commercial safety and health.
  • Must be a clearable US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret (TS) clearance.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.
