Control Systems Engineer

Job Summary:
M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Control Engineer 2 to join our Automation Systems Business Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, installing, and maintaining equipment used to monitor and control systems, machinery, and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop control systems, including programming and testing of PLCs, RTUs, and HMI systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of control systems with other systems and technologies.
- Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of existing control systems, including hardware and software upgrades and replacements.
- Develop and implement testing and commissioning procedures for new control systems.
- Provide technical expertise and support to customers and internal stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Proficient in programming languages such as ladder logic and structured text.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex automation issues.
- Proficient in designing, programming, and troubleshooting PLCs or DDCs from at least one of the following platforms: Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric, Tridium, ABB, Omron, KMC Controls, Johnson Controls Metasys, Honeywell WEBS, Johnson Control FX, Siemens Desigo/Apogee, Distech Controls, Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, GE Intelligent Platforms.
- Proficient in designing, programming, and troubleshooting SCADA solutions from at least one of the following platforms: AVEVA, Ignition, GE Digital, Siemens WinCC, Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk View, AVEVA Citect SCADA, Intellution FIX32/HMI32, VTScada.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) certification.
- Certified SCADA Security Architect (CSSA) certification.
- Certified Automation Professional (CAP) certification.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification in a relevant field.
- Certification in one or more PLC/Automation Platform, such as Schneider, Rockwell, Siemens, Niagara, etc.
- Certification in one or more SCADA platform, such as AVEVA, Rockwell, Iconics, Ignition, etc.
Education and Experience:
- Masters degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a related field with 0-2 years of experience.
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a related field with 2-4 years of experience.
