We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant General Counsel to support our legal department in a large industrial manufacturing organization. This role will report directly to the General Counsel and will be pivotal in managing a variety of legal matters.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide strategic legal counsel to senior management on significant business initiatives and legal matters.
2. Oversee major corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
3. Manage negotiations and the administration of contracts and property agreements.
4. Advise on dispute resolution strategies and evaluate litigation risks across various domains, including product liability and employment law.
5. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment of practices with legal requirements and company values.
6. Draft, review, and manage legal documents and agreements, ensuring clarity and compliance.
7. Stay abreast of legal developments and conduct ongoing research to inform business practices.
8. Supervise external legal counsel and manage specific litigation matters as needed.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of five years of legal experience, preferably in corporate law.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to navigate complex legal issues.
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on building relationships with stakeholders.
