Job Summary

This entry-level management position focuses on supporting the day-to-day activities of Rooms Operations, encompassing Housekeeping, Recreation, Laundry, Staff, AYS, and Concierge/Guest Services. The successful candidate will assist in working with employees to carry out guest arrival and departure procedures, maintaining the property's cleanliness standards, and ensuring guest and employee satisfaction while achieving the operating budget.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual with a high school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or a related field. Alternatively, a 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major, along with 1 year of experience in the same field, is also acceptable.

Core Work Activities
  • Support the management of Rooms Operations activities, including opening and closing Front Desk shifts, ensuring completion of assigned shift checklists, and performing other duties as required.
  • Run and review critical information contained in room operations reports.
  • Understand the functions of Recreation, Laundry, Housekeeping, Bell Staff, AYS, Front Desk, and Concierge/Guest Services operations.
  • Operate all department equipment as necessary and report malfunctions.
  • Ensure employees have the proper supplies and uniforms.
  • Understand night audit procedures and be able to comprehend and utilize reports as necessary.
  • Understand and comply with loss prevention policies and procedures.
  • Communicate performance expectations to employees in accordance with job descriptions for each position.
  • Handle employee questions and concerns.
  • Effectively schedule employees to business demands and track employee time and attendance.
Contributing to Budget Management
  • Supervise same-day selling procedures to maximize room revenue and property occupancy.
  • Verify the accuracy of room rates to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Use budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports as needed to assist in the management of Room Operations.
  • Participate in the management of departmental controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
  • Understand the impact of Room Operations on the overall property financial goals and objectives.
Providing for and Managing the Guest Experience
  • Assist in the investigation of employee and guest accidents.
  • Assist in the use of a guest information tracking system to ensure a successful repeat guest recognition program is in place to recognize guest preferences and provide personalized service.
  • Set a positive example for guest relations.
  • Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels, effectively responding to and handling guest problems and complaints, seeking assistance from a supervisor as necessary.
  • Assist in the review of comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.

This position offers a competitive hourly pay range of $26.44 to $30.29, as well as an annual bonus. Additionally, the position is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, health care flexible spending account, dependent care flexible spending account, life insurance, disability insurance, accident insurance, adoption expense reimbursements, paid parental leave, educational assistance, 401(k) plan, stock purchase plan, discounts at Marriott properties, commuter benefits, employee assistance plan, and childcare discounts.
