Under general supervision, the Lifeguard - Aquatic Activities Supervisor will supervise and teach aquatic activities at a community swimming pool, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for patrons. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to enforce pool rules and regulations while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce established rules and regulations governing the safe use of pools.
  • Monitor the swimming pool and surrounding area to prevent emergencies.
  • Rescue bathers as necessary and render CPR and first aid as needed.
  • Maintain and clean the pool and surrounding area.
  • Prepare reports of rescues or unusual occurrences.
  • Interpret current policies and procedures to the public.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Completion of formal education sufficient to assure the ability to read and write at the level required for successful job performance.
  • Knowledge of CPR, first aid, and pool safety procedures.
  • Skills and ability to monitor pool and deck area, enforce water safety rules and regulations, perform rescues, and render first aid and CPR as necessary.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Requirements
  • Possession of an American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and Standard First Aid certificate.
  • Possession of an American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer certificate.
