Position Overview

Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts (VCUarts) Department of Dance and Choreography is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach courses in various areas of study. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals to share their expertise and contribute to the growth and development of our students.

Responsibilities

- Teach courses in Ballet, Modern, Tap, Hip Hop, Ballroom, Yoga, Screen Dance, Composition, Choreography, and other relevant areas.
- Foster a diverse and inclusive learning environment that promotes equity and parity.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to create a positive and successful organizational experience.

Qualifications

- Appropriate teaching experience and/or strong oral presentation and communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in one or more areas of expertise in dance and choreography.

Preferred Qualifications

- Master's or Doctoral degree in Dance, Choreography, or a related field.
- Willingness to teach in both in-person and online formats.
- Willingness to recruit as needed, assist with semesterly assessments, and help support the Dance and Choreography department's vision and student growth.
