Job Title: Dance Musician

The Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts (VCUarts) is seeking a skilled Dance Musician to join the Department of Dance and Choreography.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented musician to accompany dance classes for majors and non-majors as scheduled. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt themes from recorded music and other sources, working closely with instructors to select and adapt music for specific exercises or techniques.

Responsibilities:
  • Accompany dance classes for majors and non-majors as scheduled
  • Adapt themes from recorded music and other sources
  • Work with instructors to select and adapt music for specific exercises or techniques
  • Ability to work in a diverse environment and foster an inclusive faculty, staff, and student environment
Qualifications:
  • BFA in music or comparable professional experience
  • Punctuality and dependability
