Job Summary:

As a Primary Optometric Care Specialist at Community Health Centers, you will provide comprehensive outpatient care to patients, including preventative and health maintenance services, acute and chronic care, clinical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment. You will also provide primary optometric care consultation services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including routine eye exams, contact lens fittings, and treatment of eye diseases and injuries.
  • Conduct thorough medical and visual histories, perform comprehensive eye exams, and diagnose and treat eye conditions.
  • Prescribe medications and provide treatment plans for patients with eye conditions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in optometry and incorporate them into your practice.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Requirements:
  • Doctorate of Optometry from an accredited university.
  • Active Florida License required.
  • DEA license (optional).
  • Certified in prescribing oral medications required.
  • BLS certification required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Three to five years of experience in optometry.
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards (AAAHC, HRSA) preferred.
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Internet, eClinical Works related software, and online resources).
  • Bilingual preferred.
