We are looking for a dedicated Health Unit Coordinator / Unit Secretary to provide vital administrative assistance within our nursing units at CentraState Medical Center.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate communication among physicians, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Promptly address patient inquiries and relay pertinent information to the appropriate personnel
- Assist in managing the admission and discharge processes for patients
- Ensure the accuracy of patient records and documentation
- Oversee the inventory of unit supplies and coordinate timely restocking
- Input and update patient data within the electronic health record system
- Work collaboratively with various departments to arrange patient appointments
- Support nursing staff in executing physician orders and coordinating patient care
- Perform general clerical tasks including copying, faxing, and filing
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory
- Prior administrative experience in a healthcare environment is preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous
- Strong communication and organizational abilities are essential
