Role Summary: The Auction Pickup Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing the auction pickup day, ensuring that the process runs seamlessly for all successful bidders. This position demands outstanding organizational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to lead a team while upholding high standards of service and care for items.

Key Duties:

  • Logistics Management:
    • Direct and coordinate the auction pickup day, ensuring timely delivery of items to winning bidders.
    • Formulate and execute logistical strategies to facilitate efficient item pickups, including scheduling, space utilization, and team assignments.
  • Client Interaction:
    • Engage with winning bidders to confirm pickup schedules and provide essential instructions for a smooth experience.
    • Resolve any inquiries or concerns from bidders regarding the pickup process.
  • Item Care:
    • Oversee the pickup operations to guarantee that items are treated with respect, minimizing the risk of damage.
    • Instruct and mentor the pickup team on best practices for handling and transporting items safely.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Guide and manage the pickup team, including task assignments, support provision, and fostering effective communication.
    • Conduct pre-pickup briefings and post-pickup evaluations to address any issues or opportunities for improvement.
  • Reporting & Assessment:
    • Maintain detailed records of the pickup process, noting any challenges or discrepancies.
    • Review and assess each auction pickup day, offering insights and recommendations for enhancing procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Prior experience in logistics, event management, or a related field is preferred.
    • Experience in team management is advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional organizational and planning capabilities with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with bidders and leading team members.
    • Ability to swiftly address and resolve issues as they arise.
    • Detail-oriented, particularly concerning item handling and property preservation.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Valid Driver's License (Required)
    • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings, as necessary for auction events.
    • Familiarity with logistics and scheduling software is a plus.

Work Schedule:

  • 7 to 8-hour shifts
  • Weekday shifts concluding by 6:30 PM
  • Saturdays as required
