About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Surgical Technologist to join our team at Lake Cumberland Surgery Center. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies.
  • Ensure the good working order of equipment and instruments.
  • Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning, draping patients, and anticipating the needs of the surgeon during the intraoperative phase.
  • Pass instruments to the physician during surgery.
  • Continually account for the number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
  • Receive and process specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
  • Carry out medical/surgical asepsis during treatments/procedures.
  • Complete documentation within the shift and meet current standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship both within the department and with other departments for the benefit of the patient.
Requirements
  • Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in the Operating Room preferred.
  • Current Operating Room Technician Certification.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification or obtained within 90 days after hire date.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
