Job Overview

Position Summary:

This role serves as the primary contact for customer interactions within the organization. The individual will collaborate with a dedicated team to handle a range of transactions, including but not limited to: deposits, withdrawals, and payments. The position requires accountability for assigned cash, adherence to balancing standards, and the preservation of the teller line's integrity.

Qualifications:

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required. Additional education or training beyond high school is preferred, or a suitable combination of education and experience.

Licenses/Certifications: None required.

Experience: A minimum of one year of relevant experience and/or training is necessary. Proficiency in general computer operations is expected. Previous experience in cash handling and sales is advantageous.


Key Responsibilities:

A: Role-Specific Duties:

  • Welcome customers, ascertain their needs, fulfill requests, and provide answers to inquiries.
  • Investigate issues and rectify discrepancies.
  • Process cash item deposits, savings deposits, withdrawals, and cash checks.
  • Handle loan, credit card, and utility payments.
  • Redeem savings bonds.
  • Reconcile night deposits and transactions received by mail.
  • Supervise the vault and ATM when designated.
  • Adhere to all cash handling protocols to ensure accurate balancing and secure management of funds.
  • Complete and manage holds/CTR's as mandated.
  • Maintain safety and security protocols at all times, including proper dual control measures when necessary. Complete logs and assist with audits while safeguarding personal keys and assigned codes.
  • Manage assigned cash levels and balance the drawer, investigating any discrepancies.
  • Promote gift cards and other banking services, identifying cross-sell opportunities and referring to a Personal Banker for follow-up.
  • Utilize back office capture to transmit transactions to corporate and resolve any balancing issues.
  • Exhibit flexibility in scheduling to accommodate various hours and locations as required.

  • Strong understanding of the relevant business area.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Capability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and interpret graphical data.
