Position Overview:


Fairview Health Services is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Healthcare Laboratory Technologist. This role is designed for a dedicated professional ready to contribute to M Health Fairview Ridges Hospital.

This position is part-time, comprising 48 hours over a two-week pay period on the Night Shift. The working hours are from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including every other weekend and rotating holidays.


The night shift offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills through more intricate testing, enjoy the advantages of autonomous work, and receive a competitive hourly wage.


Eligible candidates can earn a shift incentive bonus of up to $2,000, distributed biannually (pro-rated based on FTE). Additionally, a generous hourly shift differential is provided for all hours worked.
We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including Tuition Assistance and Reimbursement.


MHealth Fairview Ridges Laboratory conducts a range of clinical tests, including hematology, chemistry, blood gas analysis, coagulation, urinalysis, transfusion medicine, and blood collection and processing.

Fairview Ridges Hospital caters to a diverse patient population, including both pediatric and adult patients, and is known for having the busiest Emergency Department within the system.

The Ridges Lab team comprises approximately 90 staff members, including five pathologists, and operates 24/7.

Key Responsibilities:
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Healthcare Laboratory Technologist operates independently, executing all primary responsibilities associated with professional laboratory practice.

This role involves performing a wide array of complex diagnostic and therapeutic tests, serving as a resource for problem-solving and interpreting results.

The professional correlates data utilizing clinical knowledge, technical expertise, and other factors influencing test outcomes. Collaboration with laboratory customers is essential to enhance satisfaction. Participation in laboratory performance improvement initiatives is also expected.

Job Expectations:

Responsibilities include adhering to established protocols for specimen collection and work prioritization, identifying issues and implementing appropriate solutions, evaluating test results for accuracy and necessary interventions, demonstrating a commitment to Laboratory Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement, and Compliance Programs, mentoring new employees and students, and adapting care or service delivery to accommodate the developmental and cultural needs of the served population.

Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant laboratory field, including the associated lab practicum or equivalent routes as specified in CLIA '88.
Possession or eligibility for HHS-approved laboratory certification (ASCP or AMT). HEW certification is also recognized. Certification must be obtained within one year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or Medical Technology.
Proficient phlebotomy skills.
