Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Social Worker to join our team at Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center. As a key member of our Emergency Department, you will provide high-quality psychiatric services to clients and patients, working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform psychiatric evaluations and diagnoses of psychiatric disorders and substance abuse evaluations
  • Work with the Emergency Department team to provide quality psychiatric services
  • Obtain necessary insurance authorizations for patient treatment
  • Develop and implement treatment and disposition plans
  • Document all clinical activity in accordance with Johns Hopkins and State of Maryland regulations
Requirements
  • Master's degree from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education
  • Licensure as an LMSW (LCSW-C preferred)
  • Continuing medical education credits to satisfy Maryland license requirements
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of emergency room or pediatrics social work experience
