Subcontract Manager

The Subcontract Manager is a critical role within McDermott International, Ltd, responsible for overseeing the subcontracting process from initiation to close-out. This position requires a deep understanding of subcontract concepts, theories, and principles, as well as basic knowledge of related disciplines.
The successful candidate will be able to apply their expertise to improve effectiveness, provide guidance, and influence processes and policies for the subcontracts discipline. They will also be responsible for identifying and resolving technical, operational, and organizational problems that impact effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities- Project Staffing and Resource Planning
Support project staffing resource staffing plans to ensure optimal resource allocation and effective project execution.
Subcontract Execution PlanningDevelop and maintain the Project Subcontract Execution Plan to ensure seamless subcontracting processes.
Subcontract Sourcing and TenderingIn association with Engineering, Construction, and Project Management, develop Subcontract sourcing documentation and review and approve Subcontracts tendering and award documentation.
Commercial NegotiationsNegotiate commercial terms and conditions with subcontractors, in conjunction with Project Manager and other disciplines.
Subcontract AdministrationIssue Subcontract Award and proceed with administration and management of subcontracts, including facilitation of pre-award clarifications, kick-off, and post-award meetings.
Subcontract Correspondence and File ManagementManage subcontract correspondence files using electronic document management system (EDMS) and ensure proper meeting minutes are recorded and distributed in a timely manner.
Risk Management and ComplianceEnsure that a "Gap Analysis" of risks is done for all Subcontract items and participate actively in change management and risk management sessions.
Financial ManagementReconcile and approve subcontract invoices and handle invoice queries with subcontractors and internal personnel as required.
Reporting and ComplianceProvide input to the project weekly and monthly reporting regimes and perform all duties in compliance with company procedures maintaining a defined audit trail.
Performance Reviews and Close-OutSupport annual performance reviews for assigned subcontract resources and manage commercial close out of Subcontract Agreement.
Qualifications- Education
Bachelor's degree in construction, Engineering, or Business.
Experience10 to 15 years of relevant experience in construction or the oil and gas industry, with 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in procurement/material management including subcontracts administration.
