Part-time Firefighter

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter to join our team at the Davidson County Sheriff's Office. As a Firefighter, you will be responsible for providing emergency response services to the community, including firefighting, emergency medical assistance, and hazardous materials response.

• Respond to emergency calls and provide firefighting services, including laying and connecting hoses, holding nozzles, and directing water streams.
• Provide medical assistance to emergency victims, including basic life support and first aid.
• Participate in fire prevention and education programs, including fire safety inspections and public education events.
• Operate fire apparatus and equipment, including fire trucks and rescue vehicles.
• Perform maintenance and repair tasks on fire equipment and apparatus.
• Participate in training and professional development activities to maintain and improve firefighting skills and knowledge.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Class B North Carolina driver's license or valid Class E South Carolina driver's license required.
• IFSAC/Pro Board Firefighter Certification required.
• North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician certification required.
• Ability to lift, move, and maintain position on items up to 100 pounds, push objects up to 50 pounds, pull objects from 25 to 50 pounds, and lift or pull victims weighing more than 150 pounds.
• Ability to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, hearing, and performing repetitive motions.
• Ability to possess the visual acuity to operate trucks and other equipment, observe the color, volume, and extent of fire involvement, and prepare manual and computerized records.

• IFSAC/Pro Board Driver Operator - Pumps and Aerials certification.
• IFSAC/Pro Board Technical Rescuer certification.
• Two years of career firefighting experience.
