Production Assembly Specialist

Job Title: Production Assembly Specialist
Job Overview
This position involves general assembly tasks within the Element department. The role is focused on assembly line operations rather than bench assembly. Candidates will be responsible for assembling pleat packs for filters, adhering to detailed work instructions or blueprint specifications. The assembly process consists of six distinct steps across five lines. Employees will be assigned to various positions as needed and will receive training for those roles. As they demonstrate capability, they will have the opportunity to be cross-trained on different positions within their line and potentially on other lines.
Assembly Process Steps
The assembly process begins with the pleater operator, who inputs raw materials into a machine and transfers the product to the first assembler. The workflow continues as follows:
1. Cutting: Utilize hand tools and scissors to trim excess material from the filter element once production is complete, effectively converting the pleated filter into a flat sheet that meets specifications for seaming and gluing.
2. Seaming & Gluing: Assemblers will follow work instructions to select the appropriate adhesive, tools for application, and clips to secure the ends of the flat filter, creating the cylindrical filter required for the final product.
3. Assembly: Assemblers will attach the correct cap to the filter using glue and a griddle to heat and solidify the cap assembly, requiring knowledge of cap material, size, and attachment methods as specified in the work instructions.
4. Final Assembly: The assembler will complete the filter assembly by attaching o-rings, handles, and sealing caps.
5. Packaging: The assembler will conduct a final quality inspection of the filter, print and affix labels, place the filter in a box, label the box, and prepare it for transport by material handlers to the shipping area.
