We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team at Ryder System. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of heavy-duty vehicles.
Responsibilities:- Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems
- Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
- Work unsupervised on most tasks
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of complaints
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
- Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment
- Knowledge of and ability to apply knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
- This position requires the ability to drive Ryder vehicles
