Job Title: Mechanical Assembler

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team at Powell Industries. As a Mechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for building and assembling mechanical components for Switchgear units.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble Switchgear units according to blueprints and instructions
  • Repair identified discrepancies with Switchgear units
  • Promote a safety culture and attend all safety meetings
  • Ensure quality by following standard work instructions and identifying potential risks to product quality
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

Requirements:
  • Minimum education level of a High School Diploma required
  • Minimum 0-3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in Switchgear units considered an asset
  • Ability to read a tape measure (including conversions from fraction to decimal and conversely from decimal to fraction and metric to imperial)
  • Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use, repair, and maintenance
  • Basic working knowledge of MES (Manufacturing and Execution System)
  • Safety training certificates an asset for the position
