Job Description

The Railroad Commission of Texas, a leading regulatory agency in the oil and gas industry, seeks a highly skilled Program Specialist V to join our team in the Special Injection Permits Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing administrative, grant management, and public outreach support in the implementation and management of the Underground Injection Control (UIC) program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receiving and performing administrative review of injection well permit applications and reports
  • Grant management, including technical reporting and communication with customers, staff, and the public
  • Communicating with customers, staff, and the public about the program
  • Performing reviews related to environmental justice
  • Assisting the SIP Manager in tasks such as budget management and coordinating training and travel for the unit
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Five (5) years of program administration and clerical experience
  • Knowledge of office practices, administrative and technical procedures, and applicable policies, administrative codes, and statutes
  • Ability to respond to public inquiries in a timely manner, implement administrative and technical procedures, interpret applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, and communicate effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience reviewing documents for completeness and regulatory compliance
  • Knowledge of injection wells, environmental and regulatory functions, and federal grant administration
  • Experience performing public outreach
