Restaurant Kitchen Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant Kitchen Manager to join our team at Jim 'N Nick's. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our kitchen, ensuring that our high standards of food quality, service, and safety are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Management: Provide direction, coaching, and training to assistant managers and team members to ensure effective execution of kitchen systems, standards, and cost controls.
  • Food Quality and Safety: Ensure that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards, and that all safety and sanitation procedures are followed.
  • Inventory and Budgeting: Oversee department inventory procedures, manage BOH budgets, and forecast sales and labor needs.
  • Staffing and Scheduling: Effectively maintain staffing levels, labor goals, and guest satisfaction by overseeing BOH schedules and interviewing and hiring team members.
  • Guest Service: Ensure that all guests have a great experience by managing assistant managers and team members to meet all food and service standards.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) with some college preferred.
  • Experience: Three to five years of high-volume full-service restaurant management experience preferred.
  • Skills: Exceptional leadership and motivational skills, ability to attract, train, develop, and retain top team members, and strong guest service focus.
Physical Requirements:

Performs duties that require bending, lifting, reaching, and turning. Transports items and containers (weighing up to 50 lbs.). Able to stand up to 8 hours or longer if needed.
