Job Summary

STERIS is seeking a skilled Medical Device Repair Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing surgical instrument and device inspection, repair, and refurbishment in a lab-based setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic to intermediate level repairs of surgical devices/instruments and equipment to specifications.
  • Identify problems within the job role and use standardized testing procedures to examine and test mechanisms for defects.
  • Reassemble surgical devices or equipment and test assembly for conformance to specifications.
  • Meet fundamental troubleshooting requirements in the role.
  • Identify risks and issues and escalate them in a timely and effective manner.
  • Adhere to Standard Work Instructions (SWI) and conform to Company ISO goals and objectives.
  • Complete workplace organization audits per site requirements.
  • Comply with work schedules, established team standards, and protocols to ensure a safe, productive, and respectful work environment.
  • Abide by all Company safety, health policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of work experience, including at least 1 year of relevant experience, or 1 year of experience at STERIS.
  • Relevant experience may include hands-on repair, assembly, or product testing and use of small hand tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds at times and push instrument carts ranging from 10-150 pounds at times.
  • Ability to meet flexible schedules with early/late hours and sometimes outside normal business hours.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with solder, brazing, or other fine mechanical applications.
  • Vocational / Technical Degree.
  • Certifications in technical training.
