Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative Associate to join our team at Optum. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth registration process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and welcome patients in person, providing a positive and respectful experience.
  • Collect demographic and insurance information, accurately entering data into our electronic medical record system.
  • Check in or interview patients to complete necessary paperwork, ensuring all required information is collected.
  • Direct patients to their appointments or procedures, providing clear instructions and support.
  • Assist with scheduling add-on appointments and verifying eligibility and benefits information for payers.
  • Collect co-pays or deductibles and respond to patient inquiries regarding financial assistance programs.
  • Use resources and tools to complete accounts in assigned work queues, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Assist patients in completing request for information forms and submit to the appropriate department.
Requirements:
  • 6+ months of customer service experience in an office or hospital setting.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work every other Saturday and Sunday from 7:00am – 3:00pm.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Flexibility to occasionally work other shifts as business requires.
  • Revenue Cycle experience.
  • General office experience.
