Job Description

This role is the key applications support person for the Northeastern United States, working closely with Sales Representatives to achieve instrument sales goals by applying scientific knowledge of UV/VIS/NIR and Fluorescence technologies. The successful candidate will work remotely but must reside near Shelton, Connecticut area for occasional meetings.

The primary responsibilities include:

  • Providing customer demonstrations, analyzing samples, generating professional reports, and presenting results and solutions that address customers' challenges
  • Assembling and delivering technical product presentations to individual prospects and seminar/tradeshow audiences
  • Training and applications implementation
  • Ongoing feedback to Product Line Leaders and Product Managers on emerging applications, trends, performance, and competitive landscape
  • Developing application notes based on market needs

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Master's degree with 5+ years of post-academic experience
  • 3+ years' hands-on experience with advanced optical spectroscopic characterization techniques, including variable-angle reflection and transmission-type measurements within the UV-Vis-NIR spectral ranges
  • 3+ years of experience with Shimadzu 3600 or 3700, Agilent Cary 5000 or 6000, or PerkinElmer Lambda 650, 750, 850, 950, or 1050
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Location

This position requires remote work with occasional travel up to 50% throughout the year.
