Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Education Program Specialist to join our team at the Archdiocese of San Antonio. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with file documentation, data entry, and client services for the RSS Education program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct enrollment and intake processes, determining client eligibility and completing program registration.
  • Participate in outreach efforts to invite new clients to English classes, via phone, virtually, or in-person.
  • Lead and conduct transit classes to teach clients how to use public transportation safely and properly.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough case file documentation in accordance with grant requirements.
  • Develop and use spreadsheets to track client demographics, program goals, and other relevant data.
  • Input and retrieve data from external online databases, as required.
  • Assist with entering/reporting attendance/client services as needed.
  • Utilize interpreting and translation services to communicate with limited English proficient clients.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients to remove barriers to service.
  • Maintain current knowledge of community resources related to adult education and client well-being.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in education, social service, or business-related field.
  • Minimum one year of experience working in a social service, administrative, or hospitality environment, demonstrating sensitivity and appreciation for diverse cultural populations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, creating spreadsheets, formulas, and tables, and entering data for record keeping and reporting.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and valid vehicle insurance.
  • Ability to operate an agency 12-passenger van as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of one year's experience in working in a social service, administrative, or hospitality environment, demonstrating sensitivity and appreciation for diverse cultural populations.
  • Experience with personal computers, various software, email, and Microsoft Works, specifically Excel.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and able to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain appropriate ethical boundaries and professional client relationships.
  • Flexibility to respond to the needs of a client population that changes daily.
  • Some knowledge of client case file documentation and record keeping procedures.
  • Ability to drive and maintain reliable personal transportation.
  • Bilingual is a plus, but not required.
