Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Sonora Quest. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing complex laboratory tests and procedures, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures, including blood banking, chemistry, hematology, and microbiology.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or issues.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, including CLIA, JCAHO, and CAP.
  • Assist with departmental compliance and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure smooth laboratory operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.
  • MLS or categorical certification (ASCP, AMT, HEW, AAB) or equivalent experience.
  • Basic knowledge of specimen requirements and medical terminology.
  • Previous experience in laboratory settings, preferably in a clinical laboratory.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques.
  • Experience with phlebotomy and specimen processing.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with laboratory information systems.
