About the Job:

Aya Locums is seeking a skilled Urology Physician to fill a locum tenens opportunity in Columbia, SC. The ideal candidate will have expertise in performing a range of surgical and non-surgical urological procedures, excellent communication skills, and strong analytical skills to diagnose complex urological conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and treat urological disorders such as urinary tract infections, kidney stones, and prostate issues.
  • Perform various surgical interventions, including cystoscopies, nephrectomies, and prostatectomies.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Provide consultation services to other members of the medical team regarding critically ill patients.
  • Provide patient education about conditions, treatment options, and post-care management strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Residency training program in urology accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
  • Fellowship training in a urology specialty may be required.
  • Board certification in urology by the American Board of Urology (ABU) or the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery (AOBS).
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in South Carolina.
  • At least one year of experience providing care in a clinical setting.
