Pensa is a Brooklyn-based creative force behind innovative products such as the D.I.Wire, Street Charge, and the One Drop Blood Glucose Monitor. We're seeking talented mechanical engineering students or recent graduates to join our team for a co-op/internship opportunity.

About the Role

As a mechanical engineer at Pensa, you'll have the chance to work on a wide range of products in a collaborative and creative design studio. You'll be responsible for:

  • Learning real-world engineering practices and concepts through hands-on participation in projects and mentorship from senior staff
  • Collaborating in brainstorming and ideation sessions
  • Creating 3D CAD models of parts and assemblies using Fusion 360 and Solidworks
  • Building prototypes and mockups of your concepts
  • Planning, executing, and reporting engineering tests
  • Collaborating on design reviews and decision-making
  • Having ownership of your projects
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be a student pursuing an engineering degree or a recent graduate
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be comfortable working in a workshop and prototyping
  • Have a basic understanding of materials, mechanisms, and manufacturing processes
  • Be proficient in 3D CAD software (Solidworks and Fusion 360 preferred)
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Be well-organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
  • Be able to articulate your thought process and rationales behind your decisions
  • Be excited to work in a multidisciplinary team and learn new skills

We're looking for individuals who are passionate about product design and invention, and who are eager to deliver high-quality work in a collaborative environment. If you're a motivated and talented mechanical engineer, we'd love to hear from you.

Our internships are designed to be a learning experience, teaching you to deliver high-quality work in a collaborative way. We only offer full-time internships to ensure the best experience for both you and our team.

Applicants are highly encouraged to link a portfolio on their resume demonstrating their engineering experience.

We're excited to meet talented individuals who share our passion for innovation and functionality. Thank you for considering Pensa as your next career opportunity.

Compensation: $160/day
