Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at Toledo Clinic Inc as a Surgical Care Coordinator. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, taking into account the patient's medical history, current condition, and expected outcomes.
  • Assist the physician and anesthesiologist in preparing, monitoring, and recovering patients in the operating room, ensuring the highest level of patient safety and quality of care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of the nursing process, including patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Assist in counting and verifying surgical instruments, sponges, and sharps to ensure accuracy and prevent errors.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or diploma in Nursing and current state licensure required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to maintain aseptic technique and adhere to Universal Precaution Standards and clinic policies and procedures.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BLS and ACLS certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in a surgical or operating room setting preferred.
