About the Role:
This position is eligible for our Nursing Support Incentive Program, which offers a total of $5,000 over a three-year commitment.
The role of the Nursing Support Technician I is vital in assisting healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care. This includes transporting patients and equipment, preparing and maintaining patient rooms, and performing various clerical and administrative tasks to support the patient care unit.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist healthcare providers during routine examinations and procedures, ensuring the availability of necessary equipment and supplies.
2. Review patient care documentation critically, noting any significant changes in patient conditions and reporting them promptly to a registered nurse or physician.
3. Perform clerical duties such as organizing and prioritizing tasks, greeting visitors, answering calls, transcribing orders, and maintaining medical records.
4. Conduct routine quality assurance checks, safety audits, and inventory management of supplies. Provide administrative support including data entry and audits.
5. Offer clinical support by maintaining cleanliness in work areas, troubleshooting equipment issues, and assisting with patient transport and supply management.
6. Deliver direct personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and assisting with mobility, while measuring and recording vital signs and other relevant data.
7. Reinforce patient education provided by healthcare professionals and ensure patients understand their care instructions.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification:
- Must be listed as a Nursing Assistant I by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Experience:
- A minimum of six months of experience in clerical or customer service roles is preferred.
Skills:
- Proficiency in verbal and written English is essential. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to develop computer skills if necessary.
