Position Overview
The Advanced Inpatient Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in our pharmacy team, executing a comprehensive range of responsibilities with a high level of expertise. This position involves:
- Performing both sterile and non-sterile compounding for various medications, including hazardous and non-hazardous drugs.
- Assisting pharmacists in managing medication requests and optimizing operational workflows.
- Demonstrating a thorough understanding of pharmacy operations and medication management.
Key Responsibilities
The essential functions of this role include:
- Conducting compounding activities and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Monitoring inventory levels and suggesting adjustments to maintain adequate stock.
- Auditing documentation for accuracy and completeness in compounding processes.
- Facilitating the distribution of medications and enhancing current workflows.
- Collaborating with pharmacy staff to manage drug shortages and recalls.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- A minimum of two years of experience in sterile compounding and inpatient pharmacy settings.
- Licensure as a Pharmacy Technician or equivalent certification.
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
- Specialized certifications in areas such as sterile compounding or chemotherapy.
Skills and Abilities
