Key Responsibilities- Provides decontamination and sterile processing support across different hospital departments, clinics, and ambulatory surgery centers.
- Responsible for decontamination, assembly, packaging, and quality assurance of surgical instruments.
- Interprets surgical schedules and medical terminology to anticipate sterile surgical instrumentation needs and minimize delays in procedures.
- Identifies different types of surgical instrumentation and maintains inventory records.
- Utilizes specialized equipment for sterilization procedures following manufacturer's recommendations and hospital policies.
- Operates quality assurance testing equipment and ensures a safe environment following infection control practices.
- Must be flexible with shifts and maintain regular attendance and professional conduct.
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge required.
- Mechanical aptitude, organizational skills, and effective communication are essential.
- Completion of national certification as an SPD Technician within two years is preferred.
- Additional related education and experience are a plus.
