As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for assessing, underwriting, pricing, and structuring new and renewal treaty business in accordance with General Re's risk appetite and profit margin expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and analyze exposure to loss
  • Understand primary insurance policy coverage and rate making
  • Evaluate client and product experience
  • Interpret reinsurance treaty language and coverage intent
  • Determine reinsurance pricing based on model outputs and interaction with account team members
Requirements:
  • 7 years of underwriting experience in the insurance/reinsurance industry
  • Insurance contract knowledge
  • Ability to work effectively within differing team structures
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Knowledge of catastrophe models preferred
