Job Summary

This is a tenure-track faculty position in the English department at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English courses, contributing to curriculum development, and serving as a mentor to adjunct faculty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach English courses, including introductory level composition courses
  • Contribute to curriculum development and assessment of learning outcomes
  • Advise students on courses, programs, and career/transfer objectives
  • Participate in shared governance activities, including departmental, divisional, and institutional-wide activities
  • Maintain an approved professional development plan that supports the college's strategic goals
  • Serve the college in activities addressing departmental responsibilities, community outreach, and student and campus life activities
Requirements
  • Masters degree in a discipline within English
  • Recent teaching experience at the undergraduate/community college level
  • Strong organizational, advising, and counseling skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and administrators
Working Environment

Some evening classes may be required.
