Job Summary

This tenure-track faculty position is responsible for teaching and coordinating the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program core curricula. The faculty member will participate in the recruitment and retention of students; procure program material and instructional resources; have oversight of program accreditation and the advisory committee; and be responsible for the ongoing development, assessment, and revision of the programs' curricula.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a designated number of credits per fall and spring semesters with the possibility of summer semesters.
  • Perform program coordination responsibilities, including student outcomes assessment, student advisement and retention, and student advocacy.
  • Develop and evaluate instructional materials, participate in student outcome assessment projects, and advise students in and outside the classroom.
  • Recruit and advise students on courses, programs, and career objectives with support.
  • Participate in shared governance, including departmental, divisional, and institution-wide activities.
  • Maintain an approved professional development plan that supports the College's strategic goals and improves instructional quality.
Requirements
  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Current Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) credential and one or more of concentrations (Registered Vascular Technologist, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer).
  • Documented experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance, and in education theories and techniques.
  • Minimum of three years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer in the professional sonography field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong organizational and writing skills.
  • Attention to detail, with excellent advising/counseling skills.
  • Ability to establish good working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the community.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, make decisions independently.
  • Working knowledge of the Internet, discipline-specific software, Instructional Platforms (Brightspace D2L), Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
