Position Summary

Castalia Systems is actively seeking a Senior Technical Support Engineer to engage in a significant role supporting the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), specifically within the Program Executive Office for Special Operations Forces Digital Applications (PEO SDA). The core mission of the PEO is to provide innovative, relevant, and reliable software and data capabilities tailored for the Special Operations Forces (SOF) warfighter, enabling them to achieve information superiority in complex operational environments.

Key Responsibilities

A qualified candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Providing operational support that necessitates a comprehensive understanding of SOCOM and Joint Staff operations, including targeting cycles and Tactical Data Links.
  • Knowledgeably supporting and instructing on all SOCOM and Joint Staff programs related to COP management, Operational Area of Interest (OAI) management, and Commander Critical Information Requirements (CCIR) management, along with other software solutions that fulfill operational needs.
  • Collaborating with assigned units to identify specific requirements and communicating operational capability gaps regarding software and technology to SOCOM.
  • Coordinating and synchronizing efforts with relevant Geographic Combatant Commands (GCC) and Joint Task Forces, possessing a solid grasp of Task Organization related to Command and Control (C2) dynamics.
  • Participating in Area of Responsibility (AoR) level working groups focused on Mission Command and C2 efforts, including COP Working Groups, Joint Fires Working Group, and Tactical Data Link (TADL) Working Groups.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of the Unified Command structure, joint doctrine, and associated policies.
  • Thorough understanding of processes and procedures for utilizing automated tools in planning and executing Special Operations missions.
  • Ability to create processes and techniques that enhance the mission planning environment and alleviate the workload for other mission planning support contractors.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a technical support role, with a focus on Operational or Intelligence Community (IC) operations, platforms, functions, and terminology.
  • At least 8 years of experience in implementing and training on software systems/updates, standard operating procedures, and technical documentation.
