Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-Greater New York) is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to serving vulnerable populations in the New York area. We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Supporting Education Specialist to join our team at the Bronx Early Learning Center, a vibrant and nurturing special education preschool.
Key Responsibilities:
- Escort students to and from school buses at arrival and dismissal time, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Assist students with activities of daily living, such as hand washing and toileting, promoting their independence and dignity.
- Collaborate with teachers and teacher assistants to organize the classroom for instruction, creating a conducive learning environment.
- Provide administrative support to teachers, handling tasks such as data entry and filing, while maintaining confidentiality.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and safe classroom environment, adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures of Early Learning Centers, upholding the highest standards of quality care.
- Perform other related duties as requested by supervisors, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to excellence.
