We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Flow Cytometry Specialist to join our team at the New York Blood Center Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing complex flow cytometric analyses, creating and validating new protocols, and providing technical expertise to support the development of cellular therapy products.
Key Responsibilities- Perform multi-parametric flow cytometric stem cell and T cell analysis, including enumeration, phenotyping, and viability assays on apheresis products, bone marrow, tissue, and umbilical cord blood.
- Develop and implement new flow cytometric protocols, including T-cell panel and other assays.
- Perform flow cytometry equipment maintenance, including instrument setup, calibration, cleaning, and quality control.
- Ensure accuracy of tests performed with strict adherence to laboratory SOPs.
- Provide results and reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Perform accurate analysis of samples and entry of results into computer systems.
- Validate new reagents, assays, and FLOW panels.
- Assist with writing, updating, and maintaining procedures related to Flow Cytometry.
- Train current and new staff on flow cytometry procedures.
- Perform or oversee lymphocyte subset proficiency testing.
- Work Schedule will depend on laboratory workload and may require flexibility.
- Provide on-call coverage if required, including after-hours stay and occasional weekends to support cellular therapy products manufacturing.
- B.S. Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Science, or related field.
- Minimum three years of experience in a Clinical Flow Cytometry.
- Working knowledge of computerized systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, FlowJo, FACSuit, and FCS Express.
- NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or NYS Restricted License in Flow Cytometry.
