Job Summary:

The Applied Research Associates, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Computer Systems Analyst to support the development and application of high-assurance computer security systems hardware and software. This position will provide support on-site in the National Capital Region, from ARA facilities, and via telecommuting when approved. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of Department of Defense information assurance (IA) systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct systems analysis and design to ensure high-assurance computer security systems meet Department of Defense requirements

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement high-assurance computer security systems

Provide technical support and guidance to ensure compliance with Department of Defense information assurance regulations

Develop and maintain documentation of systems analysis and design processes

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related discipline and 5+ years of relevant experience in systems analysis

High school diploma and 10+ years of directly relevant experience in computer systems

DoD SECRET clearance

Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Experience with object-oriented software specification languages, procedures, and practices and their application towards high assurance systems and products

Experience documenting standard development and engineering processes, such as operational process guides, application deployment guides, user manuals, developer onboarding guides, and training documents

Experience in the documentation of workflows and source code for high assurance applications and solutions

Experience in one or more of the development languages; C, C++, Java, Python, Linux Scripting, PowerShell, Ruby, PHP, VBS, SQL, or Assembly

Experience in the configuration and administration of networked UNIX, LINUX, Macintosh, and Windows workstations

Extensive experience with Ansible, including proficiency creating and using Ansible Playbooks, Roles, and Modules to automate IT tasks, configure infrastructure, and manage applications

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related discipline and three (3) or more years of relevant experience

PhD in computer science or related discipline

Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP) certification

Experience in the analysis of unknown binary program behavior using static and dynamic techniques

Experience in two or more of the following development languages: C, C++, Java, Python, Linux Scripting, PowerShell, Ruby, PHP, VBS, SQL or Assembly

Experience in the use and application of security analysis and assessment tools and techniques or the application and use modeling and simulation tools towards high assurance systems and products

Demonstrated experience with SCRUM methodology for agile software development, including planning and facilitating sprints, leading daily stand-up meetings, and conducting sprint reviews and retrospectives

Experience with a range of test automation tools and frameworks, including Jenkins, Robot framework, and GitLab CI/CD.

Proficient in designing and implementing automated software tests, managing test data, and integrating testing into continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines

Experience administering Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), including proficiency deploying and managing AAP instances, configuring authentication and authorization settings, and creating and managing inventories, job templates, and workflows

Experience operating and maintaining enterprise research and development networks and high-assurance computer systems and network environments
