Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Operations Plant Technician to join our team at Iberdrola. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our power generation equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and administer facility programs, including Hazcom Coordinator, PSM Coordinator, and Safety Committee Member.
  • Complete the Senior Operations Plant Technician qualification standard and demonstrate understanding of all systems and processes.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance, and be proficient as a watch stander of all watch stations.
  • Act as team leader while on watch, and be responsible for the safe and proper operation of the plant.
  • Continually evaluate and prioritize plant conditions, and act to control, contain, and restore plant operations in a safe, appropriate, and environmentally compliant manner.
  • Oversee the safe and proper operation of the water treatment facilities, and assess plant conditions and call management or other resources for assistance or support as needed.
  • Monitor and interpret plant emissions and discharges, and act to maintain compliance with all applicable laws, permits, provisions, and orders.
  • Use and contribute to the facility computerized programs, including MP2, T3000, SAP, DCS, PI, and KE Intranet.
  • Train and mentor plant operations staff, and perform administrative and supervisory duties in support of various plant goals.
  • Take the lead and supervise individual or team roles to solve routine or non-routine issues, and analyze individual performance and provide guidance and/or feedback.
  • Maintain a high level of understanding of the merchant power business, and utilize that knowledge in decision-making, suggesting changes, or improvements to the overall plant operation.
Requirements
  • A minimum of seven years of experience as a Senior Operations Plant Technician in power plant operations, including all associated auxiliary and support equipment.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and abide by all Environmental, Health, and Safety documents, programs, and procedures.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and utilize drawings and technical manuals.
  • Proven successes in completing a respiratory evaluation and fit test, and first aid and CPR certification.
  • Strong communications skills and Office software proficiency, including Word and Excel.
