Job Summary

At Sky Lakes Medical Center, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Technician to join our team. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, providing exceptional patient care, and maintaining a safe and sterile environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring the proper handling of instruments and supplies.
  • Prepare and maintain surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies, adhering to AORN standards and hospital policies.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and efficient workflow.
  • Provide exceptional patient care, ensuring the comfort and safety of patients during surgical procedures.
  • Participate in the preparation and draping of patients, as well as the setup and maintenance of surgical equipment.
  • Assist with the counting and labeling of surgical specimens, and maintain accurate records.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to hospital policies and OSHA guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain certification and stay up-to-date with the latest surgical techniques and technologies.

Requirements
  • Completion of a formal Operating Room Technician course and 1 year of previous surgical experience.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Surgery Technician Certification or Oregon LPN license.

Working Conditions
  • Medium to heavy physical demands, requiring the ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent stooping, pushing, and pulling.
  • Excellent eye-hand coordination and ability to work under stress and constant time demands.
