Job Summary

The University of Dayton's Research Institute is seeking a highly skilled Timekeeping Admin to join our team. As a key member of our accounting operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring timesheet compliance and accuracy in our biweekly payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Audit and review timesheets to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Run timesheet control reports to identify and resolve any issues
  • Communicate with employees to resolve compliance issues and answer questions related to timesheets and labor
  • Process biweekly timesheet corrections, including reviewing and processing corrections, preparing and reviewing reconciliations, and making necessary entries
  • Support timesheet and payroll audits, as well as account reconciliation and other accounting duties
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field and a minimum of three years of relevant work experience
  • Understanding of and ability to apply accounting or financial management skills and concepts
  • Knowledge of and experience with complex accounting and/or Human Resource management systems
  • Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work well with others in a diverse organization
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • U.S. citizenship required due to federal government research contracts
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with payroll processing and DCAA timekeeping regulations
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and experience with Deltek Costpoint and Ellucian Banner ERPs
  • Experience with defense contracting and/or sponsored research financial management
