Position SummaryThe Electrical Planner is responsible for detailing maintenance tasks for daily, periodic, and long-term maintenance activities. This role ensures that maintenance supervisors and technicians are equipped with all necessary job steps, tools, materials, and external resources required for effective repairs on plant equipment. The planner will also develop and refine standard maintenance and repair procedures, as well as work scopes. Furthermore, the planner identifies the availability of required materials and equipment, providing clear execution instructions to electrical technicians. Additionally, the planner may develop work scopes, respond to bidding inquiries, and assess bid proposals for contract packages.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the planning of all electrical maintenance activities related to the Pellet Plant.
- Prioritize safety considerations in all work planning and scheduling.
- Organize incoming tasks into clearly defined work packages.
- Focus on predictive and preventative maintenance activities to reduce downtime.
- Implement work procedures and schedules using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Develop and document maintenance strategies for new equipment in line with OEM manuals and warranty conditions.
- Consult with contractors, vendors, and team leaders as necessary.
- Estimate and plan job sequences and durations, identifying any special tools or equipment required.
- Electrician Journeyman's license or a minimum of four years of electrical maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment.
- Proficient understanding of processing facility operations within the mining industry, including maintenance and safety protocols.
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical codes, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70E (arc flash) and MSHA regulations.
- Project management experience with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience with document control systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively train and mentor team members.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of a 2-year technical program or a Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Master Electricians License is preferred.
- This role involves both desk work and regular fieldwork.
- Some lifting and physical strength may be required.
