This position is responsible for providing professional patient care and assisting medical staff in performing cardiac diagnostic, interventional, and invasive radiology procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cardiac anatomy and EKG rhythms, as well as experience in a hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities- Assist medical staff in performing cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Provide professional patient care and ensure safe and competent quality patient care
- Utilize the patient care process to ensure safe and competent quality patient care
- Support the medical care of patients requiring cardiac or peripheral catheterization and/or intervention
- Work collaboratively with the medical team to ensure high-quality patient care
- High school graduate or equivalent required
- Graduate of an approved School of Radiological Sciences or Allied Health Science program required
- Minimum of one to three years experience in Cardiac Catheterization procedures preferred
- One to three years experience in a hospital setting as a Radiology Technologist or Cardiovascular Technologist preferred
- Basic knowledge of Cardiac Anatomy and EKG rhythms required
- Medical Radiologist Technologist (MRT) certification through Texas Medical Board and American Registry of Radiologic Technologist required
- BLS for Healthcare Worker required
- ACLS certification required within 90 days of employment
- PALS certification required within 90 days of employment if caring for pediatric patients
This position is a per diem as needed role, working in a fast-paced hospital environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team setting and provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment.
